MOTOTRBO™ Conventional System

A Conventional System typically provides coverage capacity for single-site or location. In this application radios communicate through a high-powered repeater, which provides enhanced radio coverage and centralized control.

Kenwood Conventional IP Network

Conventional IP networks link digital conventional repeaters into one system for wide area coverage or to provide coverage fill-in. As users roam through the network, radios use signals to select the best repeater. Two-way radio zones can be programmed for Channel Select for traditional conventional operation, or Automatic Site Roam, allowing the radios to scan for best signals for network calls.

Receiver Voting systems extend the range of radio from a conventional repeater by utilizing a constellation of receivers linked to the repeater site. Based on radio signal strength sent via IP link, the repeater selects the receiver with the best audio quality for re-transmission. For a large organization, multiple repeaters can be connected to an IP network. This inexpensive solution allows voice and data to be exchanged between sites.

MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect

An IP Site Connect System utilizes the internet to create more reliable radio coverage for either a single-site application, or for a wide-area application that extends the coverage area by linking the radio system across multiple sites. IP Site Connect is an ideal application for up to 15 sites or locations, and incorporates a single repeater at each site.

MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus

Capacity Plus is a scalable, single-site digital trunking solution that allows up to a thousand radio users to quickly and efficiently share business-critical voice and data communications on the same system without having to add new frequencies.

Kenwood DMR Single-Site Trunking

NXDN Type-D Trunking is the FB6*- based digital LTR protocol specified by the NXDN Forum. Unlike Type-C trunking, there is no dedicated control channel: trunking is under the control of the home repeater assigned to each radio. And like LTR, there is no registration. This cost-effective solution thus offers spectrum efficiency and simplicity.

MOTOTRBO Capacity Max

Capacity Max is Motorola’s next-generation trunking solution designed to replace Connect Plus on new MOTOTRBO systems. Capacity Max provides added calling features and increased subscriber unit capacity.

Kenwood DMR Multi-Site Trunking

NXDN Type-C Trunking is the FB8*-based full-featured digital protocol specified by the NXDN Forum and used for NEXEDGE since 2007. Type-C is otherwise known as centralized trunking; this is because, unlike Type-D, trunking is controlled centrally using a dedicated control channel that is continuously transmitting and receiving. As with MPT 1327, registration is required.

P25 Phase 1 (FDMA scheme) can also be used in a robust and reliable trunked configuration for larger organizations. Since the channels are assigned automatically, this provides greater capacity. P25 Phase 2 (two-slot TDMA scheme) requires only 6.25 kHz of bandwidth and thus offers higher spectrum efficiency. * FCC Station Class Code

Kenwood DMR Enhanced Multi-Site Trunking

NEXEDGE Generation 2 (Gen2) offers a quantum leap in network size: the maximum number of sites than can be connected has increased from 48 to 1,000, representing virtually unlimited scalability. At the same time, it provides full compatibility with current equipment. For enterprises looking to create large-scale digital trunked networks, Gen2 has the features, capabilities and performance to satisfy all their requirements.

ATLAS P25 Systems

ATLAS P25 Systems make your critical communication safe and simple to use. What makes the Atlas P25 application and transport network distinctive is its patented Latitude™ technology. Latitude enables ATLAS systems to offer increased flexibility as compared with traditional LMR systems in various aspects of its operations.

Latitude™ Technology offers:

Auto-Discovery & Self-Healing Sites:

  • When new sites are added to the network, the ATLAS system automatically reconfigures the site. The system uses site peer-to-peer or inter-site communications to broadcast relevant adjacent site information.

Distributed Call Control:

  • The site initiating a call is responsible for call setup. Once the call is established, the initiating site encodes voice messages with a standard audio CODEC and uses standard IP multicasting to send real-time transport protocol (RTP) voice packets across the network to the other sites.

Simulcast Control:

  • Our ATLAS simulcast solution has consolidated the traditional hardware elements of the comparator, prime site controller, and wide-area controller functionality into a software application. The ATLAS simulcast solution replicates this functionality at each site.

Kenwood P25 Systems

Kenwood engineers go to work every day to make the world a safer place for first responders. The mission-critical communications solutions Kenwood provides ensures public safety agencies will always have the lifeline they need when they need it most. Whether on foot or a vehicle pursuit, JVCKENWOOD systems provide the lifeline our public safety agencies require under any circumstance.

With one of the largest two-way radio networks in the United States, JVCKENWOOD has a broad portfolio of industry-leading products and a proven track record of deploying NEXEDGE technology nationwide. NEXEDGE systems come in variety of configurations to meet your specific needs. You can choose from:

NEXEDGE Conventional Systems offer capabilities beyond analog. With large unit ID and talk group ID capacity, operators can identify and segment different departments, agency groups and sub-groups on shared channels. Mix Mode allows service to both analog and digital fleets to share the same RF channel.

NEXEDGE Conventional IP Systems offer the ability to link two or more sites via IP infrastructure to provide wide area coverage. Subscriber zones on the system can be programmed for “Normal Channel Select” for traditional conventional operation, or Automatic Site Roam. This allows NX radios to scan for site beacon signals that are transmitted periodically from all sites and automatically roam onto the site with the best signal strength.

NEXEDGE Conventional Simulcast Systems allows multiple geographically separated IP-networked sites to transmit on the same frequency while simultaneously, reducing the number of frequencies needed for the system and simplifying frequency coordination. This configuration is ideal for situations where limited frequencies area available or when improved in-building radio coverage is required.

NEXEDGE Gen1 are a control channel-based trunked system that automatically assigns channels for faster and more efficient use of the spectrum. The NEXEDGE Gen1 Trunked system offers increased call capacity, improved security and faster communications with less user interaction than conventional systems.

NEXEDGE Gen2 are a control channel-based trunked systems designed for complex systems. NEXEDGE Gen2 systems provide an enhanced suite of features including increase rate of GPS updates, additional system management tools, SNMP compatible network monitoring and much more. Users can seamlessly roam form site to site without user intervention.
